Don't go raging at me, bronies. This is my second favorite show. I just want to talk about the show's problems. It is NOT PERFECT!
Problem 1: Equestria has technology, fans say it doesn't.
To be fair, Equestria's technological advancement is less than ours. But they are like the Late 1950s, Early 1960s, yet fans act like it's closer to the 1850s. I mean, when you think about it, the state of Equestria isn't that far off from us. They have electronic lights, records, and Flim and Flam's machine and the mind-reading machine in "Feeling Pinkie Keen" seem pretty futuristic (Despite Flim and Flam's machine being steam powered.) Also, according to ads for the show, Smartphones, TV, and Video Games (Though at Atari 2600-like age) exist. Anything Equestria doesn't have in the way of technology is done better by magic.
Problem 2: Public appearances of Princess Celestia are pretty common.
The appearance of Princess Celestia is always treated as a special occasion. But she appears SO OFTEN! I mean, what's so special about something that happens almost every 3 episodes in Season 1 and 2?
Problem 3: Season 3 exclusive problem: What happened to "Dear Princess Celestia?"
What happened to "Dear Princess Celestia?" That was where the lessons in this show were taught clearly, because they aren't shoved in our faces. My point is, if you are going to start educational, STAY EDUCATIONAL. And I'm not afraid to admit that I learned from a lot of those lessons. Maybe the show will start doing that again by half 2 of Season 3 or Season 4.
Problem 4: Villains aren't as menacing as original MLP.
The original MLP had scarier, more menacing villians. Also, some people say "Friendship is Magic" (The first episode) was an inferior ripoff of Rescue From Midnight Castle, but if you ask me, Return of Harmony (The first episode off the Second season) holds that title. Discord just failed to scare me like Tirek. And that didn't have a large male fanbase backing it.
